Are you marketing your small scale business on social media? Ever considered using Facebook Voice Messages for the benefit of your business? No? Let us tell you why you should.

Facebook Messenger

Facebook introduced messenger for Android and iOS for instant access and included some fancy features like stickers, emoji and voice messages in it too. While stickers and emoji are totally personal, voice messages functionality can be used for promotions and it will still be a professional thing to do. Messenger lets you record short voice messages of 60 seconds and send it instantly. Just Tap the mic, press and hold record button and release it to send your message.

Welcome New Followers

Nothing pleases people more than making then feel special. Welcome new followers personally through voice messages to start building a long lasting professional relationship with them. They are persons first and customers later, make them feel special. People do like doing business with brands which they like and you must give them reasons to like your brand.

If people don’t like your brand for the first time, it is highly unlikely they will for second time.

Become Recognised Info Source with Voice Messages

When you get a question from multiple people, record a single message and send to all of them. This will save your time for typing and also will make you stand out among others who simply direct people to check their frequently asked questions.

Answer questions in community too and build an image of a problem solver rather than a marketer. Represent a solution of a problem through a message first and then refer them to your product/service that will help solving that problem.

Make Your Followers Market for You

Make your followers feel special with some free gift and a personal message from CEO and they will automatically start talking about you. Give them a reason to post statuses and tell their friends about you and they will. Frequent offers and voice messages directly from CEO will make your brand famous in no time.

Reward Loyalty with Special Deals

A discount that has been offered to everyone makes no one special but a discount that has been offered in return of sticking to the brand or being a source of promotion of brand makes people like your brand. Do convey a message that you keep track of your valued customers by sending them voice messages telling them about things they might like based on their previous experience with you and ask them about their opinions about your business to keep them engaged.

Promoting a small scale business is quite different from traditional marketing as it has the constraints of low budget on it. Promoting any business on the internet using low budget leaves with the option of promoting on Social Media. Power of such promotion has not yet been realised fully. You can use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumbler, Pinterest and many others to promote your business. Instagram is a photo sharing platform and how it can be used to give a great boot to your business’ reach on the internet might amaze you.

Twitter was the first Social Media Network that started using hashtags but soon it became viral on other networks too and now Instagram has a higher density of hashtags than Twitter. Companies and influencers know the power of hashtags and use them to increase their influence.

Reach Out To More than Just Followers

With hash tags, anyone looking for a particular keyword will be able to see your photos no matter whether they are your followers or not. This expands your reach to literally the whole world. Use this increased reach smartly and you will see the number of favorites on your photos increasing.

        Organised Reach to Different Categories

Hashtags help keep things organised. People looking for things in more than one category will also be able to see your post. You can post a photo to Instagram, add a brief caption and tag it with a few hashtags. For example a travel company captures this image of sunset in Aruba and posts it with #sunset and #Aruba. Then it provides company’s services for travelling to that place in the description. This is an excellent way to reach out to people looking for sunset and/or Aruba.

        No More than Three Hashtags

Using to many hashtags as an effort to reach out to people looking for any keyword is a desperate attempt at third class marketing and won’t do you any good. Adding too many hashtags will limit the reach of your photos as Instagram will rate it as a bad practice. Don’t use more than three hashtags for a photo.

        Relevant Hashtags Only

While it is important to use popular hashtags, it is equally important to use relevant of them. Don’t hashtag food when you are posting about an advocate’s services. This will lead to blacklisting by many users. Use most relevant of popular hashtags for best reach to maximum people. Some tags like food, fashion, dressing, science might fit your business. Add them along with two other main hashtags and you are doing the right marketing.

Digital technology is evolving at a rate faster than ever and a day might come when we will be using digital devices for breathing and walking too. That is evolution of technology of change due to technology. How this evolution of technology effects our day to day routine, health related issues, communication and leisure time activities will be categorized as impact of technological evolution. This impact is sometimes gradual and sometimes there are sudden shifts in traditional ways of doing things to adopting new ways. The Disruption caused in ways of doing business, dealing with society and in value creation due to impacts of technological evolution is called Digital Disruption.

Small and Large Scale Digital Disruption

James L. McQuivey an analyst on the subject with years of working on defining Digital Disruption and teaching ways to deal with it, explains in his book “Digital Disruption: Unleashing the Next Wave of Innovation”, that digital disruption can be seen both as a threat as well as an opportunity. In this book he has explained digital disruption by giving the example of Dr. Hugh Reinhoff from Ferrokin, department of BioSciences. This example is about how he disrupted pharmaceutical industry by coming up with a drug to deal with chronic blood diseases, made up connections with doctors and streamlined the process of bringing molecules to market, making it hundred times faster.

The more common and familiar example is of Netflix, Amazon and Hulu Plus. In America, traditionally there were three Networks named CBS, NBC and ABC. The only way for consumers to watch shows was sitting before TV bearing with the advertisements. Similarly the way for advertisers was to go to these three and pay high costs of advertisements.

Now however they way to do business both with advertisers and consumers has been changed due to evolution of technology to provide new ways for consumers to get content they want to watch and for advertisers for how they want their ads displayed. Amazon, Netflix and Hulu Plus have thus contributed to change the way to do business as well as traditional value proposition (a statement telling the consumer why he should buy a product from a particular vendor).

        Understanding Disruption

Disruption caused by technology is the change in basic concepts or how we perceive certain things. It includes changes in definitions of concepts on the basis of which future values are determined by interpolations e.g. “business value”, “transaction”, “product” etc. From a business’s perspective, such disruptions are considered negative.
